Description
The Dokra Woman Figure Candle Stand is a decorative metal piece that combines tribal sculpture with functional lighting. The design features a beautifully crafted woman figurine in the distinctive Dokra style, holding or supporting a candle holder.
The rustic metallic finish and intricate detailing give the piece a unique artistic appeal. When a candle is placed and lit, the stand creates a warm and ambient glow, making it both a functional and decorative addition to home interiors.
Craftsmanship & Origin
Dokra (Dhokra) craft is an ancient tribal metal casting tradition practiced by artisans in West Bengal. The craft uses the lost-wax casting technique, where artisans first create a detailed wax model of the design.
The model is then covered with a mixture of clay and rice husk to form a mold. When heated, the wax melts away and molten metal is poured into the mold cavity. Natural materials such as coal, tree resin, and nut oil are used during the process. Once cooled, the clay mold is broken to reveal the final handcrafted piece.
